Summer 2020 - Pitching and Catching Clinics

 

BASEBALL AND BONDING SUMMER PITCHING AND CATCHING CLINICS
 
In partnership with Weston's Play Ball For All initiative and the Baseball Advisory Council, we will be hosting a series of fun and informative clinics this summer.
 
These free clinics will be led by our Weston teen mentors and will be a great way to learn and grow your game from these Little League alumni. The clinics will be offered to all LL levels to include grades 2,3, Minors and Majors players. All sessions will be designed in small group size and will adhere to all state and local covid-19 wellness protocols.
 
Clinic Offerings
 
Sunday July 19th - PITCHING
 
INTRO TO PITCHING BASICS - Grades 2, 3 (9:00 - 10:00am)
We will focus on the transition from coach pitch to player pitch. Emphasis will be on proper grip, throwing technique, good balance and arm care.
 
ESSENTIAL PITCHING AND GOOD HABITS - Minors - Grade 4, 5 (10:00 - 11:00am)
We will focus on technique and repeatable mechanics. Emphasis will be on good balance, throwing strikes and arm care.
 
CORE PITCHING WITH SOME ADVANCED TECHNIQUE - MAJORS - Grade 6, 7, 8 (11:00-12:00pm)
We will focus on pitching, not just throwing. Emphasis will be on solid mechanics, pitch location, pitch sequence, different pitch grips and types as well as proper arm care.
 
 
Sunday July 26th - CATCHING
 
CATCHING BASICS - MINORS - Grade 4, 5 (9:00 - 10:30)
We will focus on core ball receiving. Emphasis will be on ball blocking and throwing technique.
 
ESSENTIAL CATCHING WITH SOME ADVANCED TECHNIQUE - MAJORS - Grade 6, 7, 8 (10:30 - 12:00)
We will focus on becoming a complete catcher. Emphasis will be on setup, pitch framing, pitch calling, ball blocking and throwing technique.
